Yes and it genuinely makes a difference.

We strongly encourage artists to listen to the Aus Music Showcase before submitting. Understanding the style, tone, and audience of the program will help you determine whether your music is a good fit.

Submitting music that aligns with the Aus Music Showcase format is one of the most important factors in being considered for airplay.

We recommend only submitting one track at a time - ideally the single you are actively releasing or promoting and we recommend submitting at least 6 weeks before release day.

If that track connects with our music team, we will usually explore more of your catalogue from there. Submitting multiple songs at once can make it harder for your key track to be identified and properly reviewed.

Due to the high volume of submissions we receive, we’re unable to guarantee individual feedback on most tracks.

If your music is selected for rotation, interview, or further consideration, our team will be in contact directly. If you don’t hear from us, it simply means the track hasn’t been selected at this time.

We understand how much work goes into creating music, and while we may not be able to respond to every submission individually, every track is still appreciated and respected.

If your track is a strong fit for the Aus Music Showcase, you’ll typically hear from us within a few weeks of submission.

If you don’t hear back, please don’t take it as negative feedback - it usually means the track wasn’t selected for current programming, or there are other priorities in rotation at the time.

A well-prepared assets folder helps us feature you quickly, accurately, and professionally on-air and online.

We recommend including:

• A high-resolution artist photo (landscape and portrait if possible)
• A current artist bio (around 150–300 words)
• Your current single artwork (high resolution)
• High-quality mastered audio files in WAV format
• Social media and streaming links
• A short press release or song description (optional but helpful)

The easier it is for our team to access your information, the more likely we are to feature your music efficiently.

Yes if possible, please include a high-quality WAV file of your single.

This ensures the best possible broadcast quality. If WAV is not available, a high-quality MP3 (320kbps) is acceptable.

We welcome music submissions to the Aus Music Showcase that are created by human artists, whether fully self-written or developed with the help of producers, collaborators, or industry tools.

We do not feature fully AI-generated or AI-sung songs, as our focus is on showcasing and supporting real artists, voices, and the human stories behind the music.

While we recognise that AI and digital tools are increasingly part of modern music production, our policy is to ensure the songs we play can be performed and shared by the artist in a live, in-person setting and reflect genuine human creativity and connection.

A good starting point is to listen to the Aus Music Showcase regularly and compare your track with the music already being played.

Ask yourself:

• Does my song fit the overall style and tone of the Aus Music Showcase?
• Would it feel natural alongside current artists in rotation?
• Is the production quality broadcast-ready?

If the answer is yes to most of these, you’re on the right track.

You can, but we recommend tailoring your approach to each program or station where possible.

Stations are more likely to engage with submissions that clearly show an understanding of their audience and format, rather than generic mass emails.

Yes - one polite follow-up is appropriate if you haven’t heard back after a reasonable period (around 2–4 weeks).

After that, we recommend focusing on your next release rather than repeated follow-ups. If a program is interested, they will usually respond directly.

Our focus is always on the music itself - quality, fit, and connection with our audience - regardless of label or backing.

If your track isn’t selected, it doesn’t mean it lacks value or quality - it simply means it may not be the right fit for current programming.

Radio programming is highly curated, and decisions are based on timing, audience fit, and overall program balance.
